what is the rings of powder...fertiliser? What kind do you use...assuming you're organic here.I quit trying to grow brassicas of any kind due to the cabbage moth on the leaves and I have awful luck with aphids in the broccoli.
Its lime Joan, brasicas like it and it keeps the slugs off the young plants.
