I like to use a proper sowing compost for sowing little seeds; regular multi-purpose is fine for bigger seeds and for pricking out and potting on. Today I've been sowing lettuce, cauliflower, winter cabbage, autumn broccoli, brussels sprouts, basil and antirrhinnum:
