Tomatoes

These are also growing away nicely now they're in their growbags. I've just put two plants in each bag this year.

  1. so is this bagged compost? it looks like you just nestled the pots in to let the roots grow throuout? I've not seen this before so forgive my ignorance.

  2. Thanks frazzle; Yes joan, they're in growbags (yes bagged compost), very common over here for growing tomatoes under glass, if you click the tomatoes label there's more about how I grow them.

  3. Ok, just checked them out...so the bottomless pots...did you cut them off or do they sell them that way specifically for this grow bag purpose? Do you water into the pots and bags or just the bags? You get beautiful results! I've never seen end of season tom's drying upside down like herbs either! Do they all ripen? I just ripen the green ones in a brown paper bag.

That gulf oil leakage counter just makes me sick. That beautiful area will no doubt never be the same. And the suffering wildlife. So awful! I can't believe how unprepared all were if this should happen.

  4. I cut the bottoms out of the pots myself and water both the pots and the bags; yep they all ripen hung up like that.
As for BP - where to start?! They were obviously cutting corners for the sake of profit, just like all the other oil leaks over the years. If it results in breaking up the cozy relationship between corporations and govt regulators that might be something though I'm not holding my breath.

I'm inquiring into grapevines! Due to your inspirational success I plan to get one this year.
